That time of year again. The morning commute suddenly slows as the cars double and school buses appear on the roads. Schools reopening, from parents driving their children in to high school and college students who drive, there can be a dramatic difference not only in the flow of traffic but also in availability of parking during the school year.

Even more so, the data shows that the first month of school reopening corresponds with a higher volume of individual cars used to transport students due to comfort, ease, or working out carpool plans take time.  Even those schools that have reasonable parking spaces can find them quickly filled by staff and students, with the overflow spilling onto our streets or neighboring businesses.

These issues create problems.  Frustrated local businesses, targeting by parking officers, and late students all add stress, complexity, and take time. Front office staff are engulfed with calls, complaints, and signing tardy sheets being pulled from all sides to students missing class; these issues can have a negative impact on school environments.
